FCC approval secured for entire Calix GigaSpire and GigaPro families
Calix has received Conditional Approval from the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, based on a national security determination by the U.S. Department of War (DoW), for its gateway appliances.
Covered Calix gateway appliances do not pose a national security risk and may continue to be imported, sold, and deployed during the conditional approval period.
All FCC-authorized gateway appliances remain fully supported, enabling service providers to deliver differentiated subscriber experiences across residential, business, and MDU markets—powered by agentic capabilities from the AI-native Calix One™ platform. Current FCC authorizations remain valid with ongoing software, firmware, and security updates.
As Calix develops and launches new appliances, we will continue to follow FCC guidelines and secure approvals through the ongoing process.
Shipments, authorizations, and deployments of approved Calix gateway appliances continue without disruption. Providers can move forward with planned installs knowing covered products remain available and supported.
FCC approval confirms that identified Calix gateway appliances do not pose a national security risk, reducing regulatory uncertainty for near- and long-term planning.
Calix will continue delivering software, firmware, and security updates across its gateway appliances. This ensures operational continuity for service providers and consistent broadband experiences for subscribers across all markets.

FCC and DoW requirements overview
FCC Conditional Approval is granted under the FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, based on a national-security determination by an authorized U.S. government agency. This process is informed by requirements associated with the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019.
Under this framework:
- National security determination: The U.S. Department of War (DoW), working with the FCC, determines whether identified products pose a national security risk. Products covered by the conditional approval have been determined not to pose such a risk.
- Conditional approval period: Covered residential gateway appliances may be imported, sold, and deployed during the conditional approval window while progressing through FCC equipment authorization.
- FCC equipment authorization: Conditional approval allows identified products to apply for FCC authorization. Once authorized, products may continue to be imported, sold, and used without restriction.
- Ongoing compliance: Calix maintains regular engagement with the FCC and supporting agencies, including required milestone reporting, to demonstrate continued compliance.
- Software and security updates: Existing FCC authorizations remain valid, and Calix may continue delivering software, firmware, and security updates to covered and previously authorized gateways.
